Earn Your Body

11 Feb

Working in a crossfit gym I see lots of motivated women on a daily basis. They come in, work hard, sweat and get shit done. They are unstoppable in the gym. However, they still don’t have the body they strive for. They want to look like Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, Lindsey Valenzuela, and Andrea Ager. I admit I am one of these women. Although they put in the work inside the gym, outside the gym is a different story. I believe success to earning your body is not only achieved inside of the gym but in the kitchen. When women come to me wanting to know why they aren’t seeing the results they want, my first response is what are you eating? Most of these ladies include process foods in their diet, sugar, and alcohol. I believe in order to see these extreme results you must cut these things out of your diet completely. Now, this is me saying, “Do as I say not as I do.” I admit, I love my red wine, processed foods and sugar are not a problem its that wine I enjoy every now and again that gets me! If you want to be great sometimes you must sacrifice things you enjoy. I encourage you all to clean out your kitchen, shape up your diet, and strive for greatness!

People who inspire me

6 Feb

I was inspired not too long ago by one of the members in my gym who had lost control over one side of her body. She had a stroke after having her twins about 10 years ago. Looking to change her life, she came to HCF not knowing what she would be able to do with her limited mobility. I have had the pleasure of working with her since she joined and seeing her growth inside and out of the gym has been incredible. I watched her go from walking to running, stepping to jumping, doing modified pull ups on the rings to pull ups on the cage, using help to get into a rower to getting in it all by herself, and so much more. The progress has been astonishing!  This woman, whether she knows it or not, inspires me daily. I see her come in the gym and work her ass off! Less than 100% is never an option for her. She works had, pushes hard, and makes me a better coach, athlete, and person. I am so lucky to have crossed paths with this woman, who is not only a client but now a friend!
